Leave Replacement Special Education Teacher

Experience teaching integrated co-teaching as well as small and large group instruction to students with disabilities is preferred. Probationary French Teacher

The District is seeking a qualified candidate with certification to teach French in the Secondary School. This is a probationary track position. The successful candidate is a child-centered educator who has the ability to differentiate instruction and is comfortable with the use of technology. Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards for World Languages required.

Leave Replacement Speech Language Pathologist

Position Description:

The successful candidate will be motivated, engaging, and student-centered, with demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students in both general education and special class settings. The position requires supporting students with a wide range of disabilities, understanding various speech-language disorders and their impact on access to the general education curriculum, and collaborating within a speech-language team to support students effectively in partnership with families.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving on the school-based Instructional Support Team and supporting the Response to Intervention (RTI) process, including attending weekly meetings, responding to teacher referrals, monitoring plans, implementing interventions, and assisting in identifying students for evaluation
  • Conducting speech-language evaluations, preparing written reports, presenting findings to CSE and Section 504 Committees, and reviewing results with families
  • Providing small group, individual, and push-in services aligned to student goals and the general education curriculum in areas of voice, fluency, pragmatic, expressive/receptive language, and articulation
  • Supporting students with varied and significant disabilities, including those requiring intensive communication support
  • Collecting and analyzing data to monitor student progress toward goals and standards
  • Collaborating with teachers and staff to provide strategies and interventions for struggling students
  • Training students, families, and staff in non-verbal and alternative communication methods, including sign language, gestures, and picture exchange communication systems (PECS)
Per Diem Substitute Teacher

The Manhasset School District is seeking Substitute Teachers in all subject areas K-12.  The successful candidates will join a team of enthusiastic educators devoted to helping all students reach their full potential.

Major Responsibilities and Functions

  • Report to the Building Principal or School Secretary upon arrival at the school building.
  • Review with the Principal and/or Assistant Principal all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
  • Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
  • Teach the lesson outlined and described in the plans prepared by the absent teacher.
  • Consult, as appropriate, with the Building Principal and Assistant Principals before initiating any teacher or other procedures not specified in the Substitute Teacher’s Handbook.
  • Report in writing, on the form provided by the school secretary, on the day’s activities at the conclusion of the teaching day.
  • Follow all policies, rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
