SPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:            
 

• Provide individual and group services to children and/or parents that emphasize improved educational performance and/or conduct;
• Experience with students in life skills program;
• Develop and maintain supportive therapeutic and behavioral management programs, including Behavior Intervention Plans to promote academic achievement, social and emotional wellbeing;
• Experience implementing crisis intervention plans and/or crisis intervention techniques;
• Serve as CSE/504 Chairperson and participate as a member of the Committee of Special Education/504 team to report evaluation findings and collaborate on the child’s Individual Educational Program;
• Experience with psychoeducational testing.
   

Serve as Transition Coordinator to bridge the gap between the educational setting to post-secondary life for students, particularly those with disabilities or in specialized, non-traditional programs. 

 

• Develop and host informative presentations for families regarding transition (Special Needs Trust, Guardianship, Social Security, ACCES-VR);
• Develop and support school and community partnerships for prevocational and vocational programs/job coaching
• Meeting participation with agencies and families to ensure smooth, cohesive transitions from school to post-secondary programs.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications: New York State certification. School Psychologist with BCBA preferred. Salary as per MEA teachers’ contract.
