Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Performs one or more of a variety of highly skilled maintenance and repair tasks in the upkeep of District facilities and buildings.
• Knowledge of one or more trades.
• Inspects, installs, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilation equipment, fixtures and wiring.
• Uses a variety of h-and and power tools in construction, remodeling or repairing various areas in district.
• Keeps working tools, equipment and work area clean and in good condition.
• Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks accurately and timely with considerable tact.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Supervision of unskilled or semi-skilled personnel assigned to assist in performing maintenance duties, as required.

 

Job Qualifications

1. Graduation from a vocational or trade school

AND

One year of experience in performing general or specialized maintenance and repair tasks in buildings, and on various types of machinery, equipment, furniture, and tools.

OR

2. Three years of satisfactory experiences as outlined above.

New York State fingerprint clearance and Civil Service approval required. This is a full-time, 12- month position with hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Salary as per MESPA contract.
